Marriage & Family Therapist
Latrina Hynes, MA, LMFT
Latrina Hynes is the founder of Peace & Mind Wellness. Latrina is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with strong ties to the Los Angeles city and community. “ My objective in forming Peace & Mind wellness was to provide a safe space for community members to discuss feelings”, seems so simple but in reality, this has not been something that has been openly discussed accessible to our community. For so long we have believed that having feelings and discussing feelings were all signs of weakness. I’m here and the Center is here to bridge the gap and get rid of the old way of thinking because that has not served us.” Latrina has been working hands-on in the Los Angeles area within the community providing mental health services for over 10 years.

TJ (Tamaa) Casey, APCC
Growing up in the inner city, I witnessed firsthand the resilience of people navigating life’s complexities while facing systemic barriers. These experiences shaped my identity and ignited my passion for creating spaces of healing and empowerment, particularly for underserved communities. I pursued my undergraduate education at Loyola Marymount University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in African American Studies. My studies deepened my understanding of social structures, systemic inequities, and the rich history and contributions of the African American community. This academic foundation fueled my dedication to making a tangible difference in people’s lives. I then went on to pursue my Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from Alliant International University, where I further deepened my knowledge of mental health and therapeutic approaches. Today, I am an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC), specializing in providing empathetic, client-centered care. My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which I integrate with normalization and attentiveness to help clients address their challenges and transform their lives. I create individualized treatment plans, empowering clients to progress at their own pace as they embark on their healing journey. I am committed to providing a counseling practice that prioritizes acceptance, understanding, and transformation. Through my work, I aim to equip individuals with the necessary tools to achieve emotional freedom, self-love, and a sense of purpose. My journey has taught me that regardless of one’s starting point, their story can be one of redemption, resilience, and deliverance.
